For the first time, Dave Weckl is
offering private online lessons using Zoom! This is a
rare opportunity to
work one-on-one with a legendary performer and teacher.
Dave’s feedback and guidance will be priceless no matter
what your goals may be.
As you might expect, Dave offers a top-level experience,
with a four-camera setup and fully-mixed studio sound.
When he demonstrates something, you’ll be able to see it
from his left side, his right side, and directly
overhead. He can insert a foot cam on any shot.
Working with Dave
It is important
to understand that Dave will be most helpful acting as a
"consultant." His observations and guidance can
complement regular lessons with your own teacher - and
the hard work you're putting in by pracitcing.
You can, of course, do multiple lessons with Dave, but
his availability will vary. Your time with Dave is best
spent by taking his input and working on areas he points
out.
How The Lessons Work
Lessons are billed in 30 minute increments. Ideally,
lessons will be a minimum of one hour. The first lesson
will be split into two parts:
1. Dave will ask you to show him your setup, and to sit
down and play for a few minutes.
2. You will have a short chat about your goals and Dave
will chime in on what he sees.
You can also submit
videos (links) of your playing, prior to the lesson (for
a small added fee), so lesson time can be more hands on
than evaluation.
Dave approaches every student’s needs as an individual
analysis. The goal is to both accommodate the student’s
wishes for things wanting to be learned, but also to
share honest thoughts on what Dave feels the student
needs to work on. All of this can be discussed and a
plan can be made.
You will get a lot out of just one lesson, but you can
schedule subsequent lessons if desired.

Effective setup of your kit and ergonomics
(heights and angles)
Hand and foot technique
Grooving/swinging
Playing with Brushes and Bundles
Live sound and live recording
Recording your drums
General music, and music business consultation
Cost
Each 30 minute increment will be $125 USD. The minimum
for the first lesson will be one full hour, or $225 USD.
Subsequent lessons can be agreed upon in advance.
Prior to your lesson, your payment can be sent through
PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, Dave will
send you a link that you can use to pay by credit card.
PLEASE NOTE: credit card payment will
include a small fee.

to help make sure you get the most out of your lessons.
